A new website focused exclusively on Nigeria’s Nollywood industry has been launched and is already running.
The publisher told NET the journal, fashioned after America’s Hollywood Reporter, will provide exclusive content about the Nigeria’s vast film industry.
‘The website, which was launched on Friday, January 10, 2014, is suitable for all browsers and devices so movie fans can easily get first hand Nollywood stories, gist and news’, says Olatunji, who is also the CEO of BigSam Media, a Lagos-based PR firm.
Samuel Olatunji is a former Entertainment Editor at Nigeria’s Sun Newspaper.
He says TNR will combine classic tabloid style with simple style of writing and hold the ideals of journalism close to heart.
‘Nollywood deserves more than what it has. As the second largest (film industry) in the world, it should enjoy premium attention, depth, fact and be treated as a serious business. The West African movie industry has more depth than most critics make it appear.’
