A Nigerian man named Yemi Fasipe has called on the Super Eagles of Nigeria to shun their make or mar group D match against Argentina in protest the recent violent massacres in Jos and other parts of Plateau State.
The man who shared via his twitter handle @YemieFASH addressed his tweet to the Nigerian captain John Obi Mikel who incidentally was born in Jos, where he also started his playing career with Pepsi football academy.
There have been reports of violent attacks in Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs in the state which has left hundreds of lives lost and houses burnt.
Yemi Fasipe believes that this would bring world attention, the violent killings believed to have been carried out by suspected herdsmen.
See his tweet below:
You are the captain of the @NGSuperEagles kindly mobilize the players to boycott our match against Argentina tomorrow to protest the continued killings in Nigeria.
The #WorldCup is nothing to Nigerians compare to the innocent lives wasted daily.
