Other shocking exits that have happened include Spain who lost to hosts Russia and 2 time champions Argentina who were ousted by France in a 7 goal thriller.
Uruguay also knocked out portugal as they march strongly in their quest to pick up their second world cup title, while high flying Croatia knocked out Denmark in a game that finished in a nerve-wrenching penalty shootout.
