Some of soccer’s richest stars may not be at the Olympics, BUT their respective countries are participating in Rio, Brazil.
Lionel Messi however announced his retirement from international football after the 2016 Copa America, while Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates won this year’s European Championship hosted by France.
The nations of both superstars however met in Group D of the ongoing Olympics, with the Portuguese Olympic squad defeating Argentina 2-0 in their opening game at Estádio Olímpico João Havelange.
The goals came through Paciencia and Pite in the second-half.
Portugal lead Group D on goal difference ahead of Honduras that got a 3-2 win over Algeria.
