Nollywood veterans, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Patience Ozokwor have been appointed to head committees for the 2017 edition of the biennial Zuma Film Festival.

Hyginus Ekwuazi, a film scholar, critic, communication expert and the founding Director of the National Film Corporation, has also been appointed as Head of Jury of ZUFF.

To hold between December 1 and December 15, 2017, Zuma Film Festival is ‘designed to give impetus to increase expansive opportunities available in the global audiovisual market.

‘The festival will continue to serve as a platform for Nigerian film practitioners to network with their counterparts from other parts of the world,’ according to Chidia Madueke, Managing Director of the National Film Corporation.

Speaking to NAN, Madueke said further that the festival will seek to ‘facilitate co-production and financing opportunities, reward cinematic excellence, promote audiovisual services, cultural products and the huge export potentials of Nigerian films.’

Submission of entries for ZUFF 2017 is open and will close on September 31.

The last edition and the seventh in the series of ZUFF held in 2014.
