Since the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi took a new wife on Friday 19th of October, the news of his marriage has sparked controversy especially as a viral photo of the new Queen, Olori Shilekunola Moronke Naomi Ogunwusi stepping on a substance believed to be blood became a trending topic.
In the defence of the Yoruba culture, Nollywood actor, Femi Branch has come out to explain that the substance is not blood, but a red powdery substance called Camwood (Osun in Yoruba).

The actor further explained that he had to record a video because too many people had tongue-lashed the new queen who is also a prophetess for engaging in ‘fetish’ rites despite her religious background.

But before I continue, I want to talk about this picture trending on social media about her stepping on blood to enter the palace. Osun is a red powdery substance which is used in Yoruba land as a sign of blessing and prayers for new brides to be fruitful. our culture is rich and beautiful, let us not join ignorant people who go around talking about what they do not know about.
