The Lagos State Police Command has revealed its findings into the alleged murder of Nigerian singer Alizee and her daughter by her Danish husband, Peter Nielsen.
Alizee, real name Zainab Nelson, and her 4-year-old daughter, Petra Nielsen, were found dead at the Banana Island, Ikoyi residence last Thursday.
Mother and child were allegedly strangled to death by Peter, the man who was supposed to love them the most.
Lagos Police spokesperson, Chike Oti, said in a statement that visible marks of violence were seen on Alizee and Petra’s bodies.
He said the singer’s 13-year-old sister, Miss Gift Madaki, who was with the couple on the day of the incident, claimed she heard Alizee’s cry in the middle of the night.
Gift promptly notified the Facility Manager of Bellasta Tower, Banana Island, Kunle Kukoyi, who in turn alerted the police.
Oti said the Command swiftly mobilised its Crime Scene Detectives to the location, along with a medical team from Britannia hospital, Lekki Phase one Lagos.
“Together they went to Flat 17, Block 4 apartment of the Nelsons,” he said.
“Two bodies, identified as that of Zainab Nelson and her 3 years old baby, Petra Nelson were found in the kitchen. The doctor and his team inspected the bodies and confirmed them dead.
“Preliminary investigation conducted at the scene revealed that the violence that consumed the deceased persons started in the couple’s bedroom but the bodies were dragged to the kitchen.
“On closer examination, visible marks of violence were seen on the bodies.
The corpses were photographed and evacuated to Lagos Island General Hospital for autopsy,” he added.
Oti said the state police command has sent letters to the embassy of Denmark intimating that Peter, 53, was under investigation for murder.
He said investigation was still ongoing.
