The Legal team for detained rapper 21 Savage have spoken up to clear the air following reports that British-born star was in possession of a loaded gun at the time of his ICE arrest.
HipHopDX reports that a statement sent in by one of 21’s attorneys, Brian Steel, unequivocally denies the weapon found in the red Dodge Challenger belonged to his client. Steel also insists the vehicle didn’t belong to the rapper.

“That was not his car and the gun retrieved is not his,” Steel said. “No one will be falsely accusing my client. 21 Savage has done absolutely nothing wrong.”
Also, Alex Spiro, brought on by hip-hop mogul JAY-Z and Roc Nation to help with the case also discredited the recently reported arrest by the Atlanta Police Department.
“ICE has confirmed he was targeted for immigration enforcement and nothing more,” Spiro explained in the statement. “He was never arrested by the police and some other individual’s firearm and vehicle is not our concern here.”
21 is currently undergoing ICE “removal proceedings” and being held without bond. The rapper reportedly migrated to the United States when he was seven and has lived there for almost two decades.
21 has a pending U Visa application and no criminal convictions that make him deportable but is still being held without bond.
