English giants, Chelsea FC appears to have taken a break from European football following its ouster from the Champions league last night by PSG as the Roman Abrahamovic-owned club will not be making an European appearance next season.
The current EPL champions have already lost an opportunity to compete at the next UCL season following its dismay performance which has thrown the Stamford Bridge side out of the top 4 and with its current position as 10th on the EPL table with 9 matches to go, it is very unlikely that the team will even make it to the lower Europa League.
While Guus Hiddink’s arrival at the club in January might have stabilized the team to an extent, Chelsea has so far had a lousy season which once saw the London giants languishing around the relegation zone.
From all indications, it appears Chelsea will not be returning to Europe anytime soon following its 1-2 loss (2-4 on aggregate) at home to PSG.
