Presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has recorded a shocking victory over President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential poll in FCT, Abuja.
The President had been reported to have lost the polling units in Aso Rock on the day of the election.
Buhari polled a total of 152,224 votes while Atiku polled a total of 259,997 votes.
The collation officer said it was in only one polling unit that election didn’t hold in FCT on Saturday, but was it later conducted on Sunday with the results declared. The total number of accredited voters is 467,784 while number of total votes cast is 451,408.
A total of 423,951 votes were valid while 27,457 votes were rejected.
A total of 1,344,856 people registered for their PVCs in the FCT but 1,026,920 were able to collect theirs.
The collation of election results is currently ongoing in Abuja. This is the third out of 36 states to have been officially announced.
