Duncan Mighty has been the at the centre of debates since he released his hit song, Fake Love featuring Wizkid. The Portharcourt first son popularly known as Wene Mighty had a sit down with NET TV where he discussed his relationship with Wizkid, his career and most importantly his upcoming music video with Tiwa Savage.
Wene Mighty as he is fondly called has been on a roll in recent months, releasing more than ten new songs in recent weeks with various musicians including Reekado Banks, Bracket, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and many others- the biggest of which being Fake Love, the collaboration he did with Wizkid.
The song is widely acclaimed to be a hit and has moved a section of fans to start a debate of its impact on Duncan Mighty’s career- as many have the opinion that collaborating the younger Wizkid brought him back to the limelight.
Before now, he has refused to comment on his collaboration and relationship with Wizkid. However, while speaking to us, he seemed unfazed by allegations that Wizkid revived his career, but more or less agreed with the public sentiment saying, ‘I just want to say a big thank you to Starboy Wizkid because after Fake Love, it was a big turn around’, Duncan Mighty said exclusively to us.
He further stated that the relationship between him and Wizkid (as well as a number of other acts) was similar to that of family members and as a result, neither of their respective managements had to get involved in making the song.
‘I always tell everybody that producing a song with Wizkid is not like the usual music business where two artistes come together to do business or those who just want to know you for the music sake. There are few artistes who are like family to me- most of these collaborations are not collaborations where your management needs to go see each other. It’s about visualising the magic which the artiste can bring to the song, and I [only] told Wizzy, “Mehn, this song, na only your voice I dey hear inside the song.” So shout out to Starboy and my crew.’

An elated Duncan said ‘Tiwa Savage is the best in the game. This collaboration is the best after I had fake love, I have had several collaborations after Fake Love but I am so proud of this one.
