With all the gigantic strides being made by the distinguished former member of the House of Representatives, it was only right that the Board of the biggest African music awards in Diaspora, AFRIMMA, decided to honor a worthy man, Honorable Prince Ned Nwoko with  the inaugural AFRIMMA COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Afrimma 2019 Awards & Music Festival’s 6th edition that held at the Bomb Factory Dallas, Texas, where Ace Nollywood actor Francis Duru picked up the award on his behalf.

For the amiable learned man of the law, Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, a distinguished and accomplished Nigerian Lawyer, Politician and business magnate of immense influence, greatness has always beckoned.

Born to the Ugboko Royal Family on December 21, 1960, Ned Nwoko seemed destined for distinction and his academic prowess saw him to the University of Keele in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. Here he acquired his first degree in Law and History.

Nwoko set up his Law firm, Ned Nwoko Solicitors and practiced as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. His firm gained international acclaim for its management and verification of foreign debts of third world countries and their component states. As a political maestro, Nwoko in a landslide victory, won the election for the Federal House of Representatives and was a member of the legislative house from 1999 to 2003. Although the Appeal and Supreme Courts voided his initial victory at the High Court to represent the Delta North Senatorial District at the Senate in 2019, Nwoko’s home in the Federal Capital territory, Abuja, remains a Mecca for many political figures in Nigeria.

Dr Nwoko’s passion for philanthropy and charity remain legendary. This international lawyer has also emerged as one of Nigeria’s foremost creative entrepreneurs. His investments in Nollywood, Nigeria’s movie and entertainment industry and his sheer empowerment of the film makers are undoubtedly phenomenal.

Prince Ned Nwoko is a man that rises for his people at all times, a patriotic hero who fought tooth and nail in securing the payment of billions of dollars refunds back to Nigeria by the Paris Club of creditors. The history of Nigeria as a nation would not be complete without this historic and patriotic act. Prince Ned Nwoko has also recently taken up the fight against malaria, a scourge that has been battling the continent for decades resulting in over 600,000 deaths yearly. Prince launched his campaign to fight malaria as he believes the diseases leads to other diseases as well causing economic loss with the numerous deaths.  A short-term goal of fumigation of Nigeria and other African countries is already in place and just like numerous battles he has fought in his life, he is desperate to end the scourge of malaria in Africa.
