So, Ndani TV burnt down yesterday.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday, February 19, 2017. The estimated worth of equipment lost runs into millions of Naira.
It is believed that the content for Gidi Up 3, which had just been shot, is among the numerous other items lost in the inferno.

We take a look at three other cases of production studios gutted by fire over the years.
1. Philips Studios, Ojota – Lagos (2012)
This studio was where arguably Africa’s biggest sports channel, SuperSport operated from in the late 2000s.
It also housed the set for M-Net’s Tinsel as well as celebrity talk show, Jara.
However, in 2012, the studio was razed by fire.
Thankfully, no life was lost.
2. Ultima Studios – Omole Phase 1, Ojudu – Lagos (2009)
Ultima was responsible for one of the most popular game shows in Nigerian television history, the Frank Edoho-hosted Who Wants to be A Millionaire.
It also handled the immensely popular MTN Project Fame West Africa. The multi-million facility met its demise in 2009, after the first season of Project Fame had been produced in the studio.
After the fire, Ultima moved to Bamako Road, College Bus-stop, Ojodu, a location not exactly far away from the initial office. No loss of life was recorded in the inferno.
Estimated loss: N320 million.
3. Moments With Mo’ Studios – City Mall, Onikan – Lagos
Before Mo Abudu moved her EbonyLife production house to Calabar, it was located in Lagos at City Mall, Onikan.
However, the move across the country was necessitated by a fire which consumed the City Mall studios.
No lives were lost.
Estimated loss: N150 million.
4. Ndani TV – Lekki – Lagos (2017)
In the early hours of Sunday, February 19, 2017, the production studios of Guaranty Trust Bank-powered Ndani TV was razed by fire.
Although no life was lost (and thankfully so), reports are that almost every item in the studio was lost in the studio including freshly-shot content.
Estimated loss: N850 million.
