The mother of the little black boy featured in H&M’s controversial ad is finally speaking out. Terry Mango, the mother of the young boy, took to Facebook to share her thoughts on the backlash the Swedish retail company is getting for using the boy to model a sweatshirt with the inscription ‘Coolest Monkey In The Jungle’.

Terry, who lives in Sweden but is a Kenyan native, said she was present at all the photoshoots and did not find the hoodie offensive. She also said that while she doesn’t understand the backlash, she agrees that everyone is entitled to their own opinion about it.

O well, this is simply a case of sympathizers crying more than the bereaved.
