Ebony Life TV’s FIFTY keeps breaking grounds.
Since its 2015 December release in cinemas across the country, the Biyi Bandele directed feature has been doing big numbers at the box office – and now, according to Ebony Life TV’s website, the movie has grossed over four hundred million naira ‘through various revenue generating streams’.
According to the website;
In partnership with Film One Distribution, Fifty made nearly N100million through Box Office takings alone. Premiere sponsorships/Partnerships; Private screenings; a first-of-its-kind deal with Internet streaming provider, Netflix; In-flight entertainment deals and video-on-demand (VOD) are among the other revenue streams.

Fifty also had support from major businessmen in the country; Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Herbert Wigwe, music superstars Banky W and Waje who surprised fans for a ‘Meet and Greet’ at cinema halls and, The Lagos State Government, The Federal Government and Corporate and social Nigeria.
You may also remember that there were lots of prizes won while the movie was newly at the cinema, with fans getting gifts like Flat screen TVs and even a car which would be presented to the winner next month.
Looks like Mo Abudu has figured this movie business thing out.
Time to get our journals and start taking notes maybe.
