Lekki is a city in Lagos State at the southeastern section of Lagos state bordering to its west Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts of Lagos. It’s also known home to many of the rich, famous and influential people in Nigeria.
However, a Twitter user has raised an alarm, urging residents in the neighbourhood to close their water tanks after a video emerged with monkeys taking a dive into the water tanks to have their bath.
This is coming at a time when several countries in West Africa are battling with Ebola, a disease which is transmitted from monkeys and other bush animals. Nigeria also had cases of the dreaded deadly disease in 2014 after a Liberian, Mr Patrick Sawyer who flew into the country with symptoms of the disease which led to his death five days after being quarantined in a medical facility.
