Kevin Hart was in a near-fatal car crash on September 1 in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda along with 2 other people, one of whom was a friend that drove the car.
He reportedly suffered severe injuries to his spine and it was speculated that the accident may have left him paralysed. He had been in the hospital since that crash and has had a spinal fusion surgery. According to People Magazine, the comedian has now left the hospital in Los Angeles after spending 10 days there.
The report says Hart is now at a rehabilitation centre where he will undergo physical therapy with the hope that he can soon become an out-patient. The 40-year-old comedian just bought the car as a birthday present for himself in July this year. His friend who drove the car had also experienced severe injuries, while the friend’s fiance and physical trainer for the Harts, Rebecca Broxterman, who was also with them at the time of the incident, is said to have escaped with minor injuries.
According to E!, Eniko Hart has confirmed that despite having a long road to top shape with a lot of physical therapy, Kevin Hart is fine. She said, “He’s doing well, thank you.” She then added when asked about his progress, “We’re just taking it one day at a time… He’ll be back on track in no time.”
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident, reviewing cell phones, surveillance videos, talking to potential witnesses and the parties involved in the accident. Jared is said to have lost control of the car, veered off the road, smashed through a wooden fence and ended up in a ditch about 10 feet off the side of the road. Luckily, none of the occupants died in the crash and the world will not be losing yet another awesome entertainer.
