Hollywood stars are showing their support for Empire’s Jussie Smollett after he was attacked on Tuesday morning while leaving a restaurant in Chicago.
Authorities in the US say they’re investigating and treating the incident as suspected homophobic and racist attack after two unknown men approached Smollett and gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs.

The Empire actor was taken to hospital after the men punched him in the face, poured a chemical substance on him and tied a rope around his neck.
Oscar winner Viola Davis, TV Host Ellen DeGeneres and Kerry Washington are among those who have posted to share their support for the 36 Years old star.
