The ex-Super Eagles captain and his better half were honoured with chieftaincy titles in Ogoniland, Rivers State on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
The recognition was bestowed on them a day after soccer stars like Kanu Nwankwo, Samuel Eto’o, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, Lomana Lualua, Laryea Kingston gathered in Port Harcourt to honour Yobo with a testimonial match.

Yobo and Adaeze were conferred with the titles: Aborlo 1 and Waamene Aborlo 1 of Ogoni.

The former Nigeria international defender made his Super Eagles debut against Zambia in a 2002 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on 24 March, 2001 in Chingola, Zambia.
From 2001 to 2014 Yobo was capped 101 times for Nigeria national team. He quit international football at the age of 33, after getting his 100th in the match against France at the World Cup in Brazil.
