40-year-old Ivorian football legend, Didier Drogba, has officially retired from the game of football after playing his last match for his MLS side, Phoenix Rising against Louisville City on Thursday night.

Even though his team the match to Louisville City 1-0 in the United Soccer League Cup final,  Drogba was applauded by the fans who serenaded him. He also encouraged his teammates to interact with the fans.

In July 2004, Former African footballer signed by Chelsea FC of England and went on to score 164 goals in 384 appearances. He won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three league cups and one champions league with the Stanford Bridge side and also became the first African player to score 100 premier league goals.
