Okon Lagos maintains that he stands by his earlier position on the matter and those criticizing him can buzz off.
Yesterday, a video of actor Ime Bishop Umeh (fondly called Okon Lagos) surfaced where he said that the policemen who allegedly raped prostitutes in Abuja didn’t actually ‘rape’ them, but committed theft.
The actor’s position was widely criticized.

It's terrible when we give a dog a bad name in order to hang it. Who justifies rape? Obviously not me. I think lots of people have problems with hearing and comprehension. Listen well again to the video I made. I never defended the animals that raped the girls. I only tried to open up another perspective to the crime they committed and that is robbery which attracts in most cases, instant death penalty by jungle justice while also condemning commercial sex hawking! Hear, Listen, Understand or shut up!!!
Okon, in a reaction to the backlash, posted another video early this morning to defend his statement from the previous video. He maintains that since since prostitutes parade themselves as wares, the crime the policemen committed by having sex with them without pay is just armed robbery.
He goes on to say that he, of course, condemns the general idea of both rape and prostitution, but he believes treating the issue as theft will get the policemen more jail time. He then ends the video by saying that he stands by his position and those criticizing him can buzz off.
