It was an amazing night for Hollywood actor, Idris Elba last night, January 30 as he walked away with two plaques at the 2016 edition of SAG Awards.
The ‘Beast of no Nation’ actor won the award for Best Male Actor in Supporting Role for the movie while he also triumphed in the Best Male Actor in a television series for ‘Luther’ making him the first black person to win a double at the SAG Awards.
An elated Idris in his acceptance speech for the ‘Beast of no Nation’ win disclosed that it felt special being awarded for his role portrayal in the movie which is a story of real people.
‘I want to tell you man, we made a film about real people and real lives. To be awarded for it is very special, because a lot of people were damaged through that. So thank you for giving this film some respect and love’, Elba said.
