In an Instagram post she shared on Sunday night, the 25-year old singer wrote about her struggles with addiction and how she had been managing it. “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.” Lovato posted.
The former Disney star was rushed to the hospital on July 24 after she was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills apartment for overdosing on drugs suspected to be Heroine and was later reported to be stable and conscious.
In her Instagram statement, Lovato thanked God, her fans, family and “team,” and the staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The “Camp Rock ” actress has long been open about her struggles with sobriety, an eating disorder and being bipolar. She said she first tried cocaine as a teenage Disney star.
