All flights from Terminal 3 were delayed for some time.
Flights departing Terminal 3 of Heathrow Airport in London were grounded earlier today, May 5, after luggage x-ray picked up a suspicious item.
This caused queues and anxiety among waiting passengers as thousands were left at standstill with little or no information.
Armed policemen and sniffer dogs searched packed planes at the airport.
A police spokesman said, ‘[We were] called at about 8:00am this morning, Friday, 5 May to HEATHROW Terminal 3, following a report of a suspicious item detected by an x-ray of luggage.’
He added, ‘Officers are working with the airport authorities and inquiries continue.’
