For the first time since he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time, NBA star LeBron James returned to the arena he played at for a total of 11 years.
The 34-year-old was the star player at the club and left in 2010 to enormous criticism from fans. He returned four years later and led the club to its first ever championship in 2016. He wrote his name in the history books at the Cavs reached the NBA finals every single year that he was there before departing for the Los Angeles Lakers at the beginning of the 2018 season.
His return to the Cavs this time was devoid of boos by the fans who came to pay homage to him. A video was made in his honour, thanking him for his years there and his activities in the community. Only months ago, he opened his “I Promise School” in his hometown of Akron, just outside of Cleveland. The school is tuition free for several disadvantaged children around the community.
