Daughter of the American president, Ivanka Trump, took to Twitter to show her support for the ongoing #TimesUp campaign but the internet users are having none of it.
Ivanka, like many other people who watched Oprah Winfrey’s acceptance speech at The Golden Globes, was inspired by Oprah’s passionate words. Although Winfrey was critical of Ivanka’s father while she accepted her Cecil B. DeMille Award, Ivanka was still inspired by the former talk show host so much that she tweeted about it.
You can view her tweet below.
Just saw @Oprah‘s empowering & inspiring speech at last night’s #GoldenGlobes. Let’s all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP! #United https://t.co/vpxUBJnCl7

Ivanka’s seemingly harmless tweet of support and camaraderie backfired as Twitter users called her out for being a hypocrite. Many users, including celebrities, found the tweet to be insincere given the fact that Ivanka’s father, President Donald J. Trump, has been linked to alleged cases of sexual misconduct by at least 22 women.
Here are some of the best responses to Ivanka’s tweet

She was talking about your dad. How is this not clear to you?

You do realize that the #1 person #TIMESUP for is YOUR DAD, right? #25thAmendment https://t.co/dr3No4Soan

Great! You can make a lofty donation to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund that is available to support your father’s accusers.https://t.co/A8HCVa715v

So you’ll ask your father to resign?
— Justin Hendrix (@justinhendrix) January 9, 2018
This is the most hypocritical, clueless statement in her regrettable time in the WH. Your father has a trail of victims and supported Roy Moore, Ivanka. YOU are indeed part of the problem Ivanka. #complicit

There have been speculations raised after Winfrey delivered her passionate and highly emotive speech, that she would be running for president. The speculations became even stronger after two of Oprah’s close friends confirmed to CNN that she was entertaining the idea and her best friend, Gayle King, made it known on ‘CBS This Morning’ that she was ‘intrigued’ by the idea.
