The general misconception among Nigerian men often times is that wearing pink apparels or using pink fashion accessories means you are gay but that is not always the truth. There are various ways to rock pink and still look very cool and not gay.
Here are five ways to successfully rock pink and look cool:
- Shoes: Wearing pink shoes can most definitely add an element of surprise to your dressing. It doesn’t have to necessarily be paired with all black. It can be paired with tribal designs and shirts that have pink stripes in them. However, care must be taken that the colours of pink in the shirts or tribal should not clash with the shade of pink on the shirt.
2. Overalls: Yeah, we know it’s Pharrell rocking the pink trench coat but anybody who mixes it up like this, will most definitely make pink overalls look cool on them. When we say overalls though, we mean cardigans, trench coats, hoodies, zip-up jackets and blazers. Pairing it with the barest minimum pop of colours always make it super fly add some light accessorising and you are good to go.
3. Shirts: Rocking pink shirts are so chic and are currently in vogue. There are so many ways to rock the shirts, wear with Navy blue suits, black suits, black waistcoats, etc. Rocking pink shirts with 3-piece suits always make the man wearing it look super sophisticated. By the way, shirts include T-shirts and Polos, both of which could be rocked with dark coloured cardigans, shoes and trouser pants/jeans.
4. Native embroideries: This is particularly for the Nigerian men who love their agbadas, atikus, etc. They could use pink embroideries on all neutral colours and colours like wine, blue, purple, green, nude etc. If you are feeling brave then you can totally rock the whole material in pink with just the right touch of accessories and look smashing.
5. Accessories: Accessories including socks, ties, brooches, cufflinks, men purses, caps, etc, are probably the easiest to use. Just to jazz up any dull looking outfits, add a dash of pink and everything is bright again.
These are some of the ways to rock pink and look just fine. However, for men wearing pink pants and all pink ensembles, that may not be a very good idea.
