National Hajj Commission of Nigeria chairman, Abdullahi Mohammed, has confirmed the death of five pilgrims who underwent this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Mohammed made the disclosure at the the pre-Arafat meeting with hajj stakeholders.
However, identities of the late pilgrims as well as the circumstances surrounding their deaths were not made known.
He did say the deceased’s identities would be released when their families have been contacted and notified.
An estimated 81,500 pilgrims are believed to be involved in this year’s Hajj, with all of them converging on Mecca, including First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
