Fayrouz, Nigeria’s premium soft drink is the proud sponsor of the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week GREEN ACCESS initiative. GREEN ACCESS is an initiative that best encapsulates “Going Green” with a focus on sustainability, recycling and upcycling, as well as provides an opportunity for selected aspiring designers to benefit from a workshop and presentation of their work at the Lagos Fashion Week.

It would be recalled that from 2014-2016, Fayrouz through its L’original platform gave young fashion and lifestyle talents an opportunity to showcase their creative works, mood boards and get trained by some of the leading lights in Nigerian fashion, including Kelechi Amadi, Mai Atafo and April by Kunbi

This year, the Lagos Fashion Week Green Access applications were received through an online registration portal and the top five applications were shortlisted by an in-house panel.  The applicants were trained by Nkwo Onwuka on the basics of designing, entrepreneurship and the useful tips they will need in the fashion world.

At the end of the class, the applicants were commissioned to design three outfits each for Green Access at Lagos Fashion Week.

On Saturday, 27th October 2018, the five winners will showcase their designs on the fashion runway in the slot tagged Fayrouz presents Green Access.

The Portfolio Manager, Non-Alcoholics at Nigerian Breweries Plc, Ngozi Nkwoji, while describing the partnership said “Green Access is Fayrouz’s way of embracing and supporting the youths who break out of the norm to express their creativity through fashion and lifestyle. The brand is also inclined with nature as the variants the brand has in the market drives home our involvement with nature.”

Lagos Fashion Week has presented and celebrated African fashion for the past seven years, showcasing collections from the continent’s leading designers and positioning the platform as the voice of African fashion. This year, the new “Green Access”  initiative aims to discover raw fashion talent from Nigeria and empower them to explore sustainable ways of achieving their creative goals.
