Brazil head coach, Carlos Caetano Bledorn Verri, commonly known as Dunga, who replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari after the 2014 World Cup, has revealed that he cast his 2014 Ballon d’Or vote for Cristiano Ronaldo over his fellow countryman and player, Neymar.
Speaking during a recent press conference in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the 51-year old coach said he didn’t vote for the Barcelona star, who was initially on the Ballon d’Or 23-man list, for the super efficient Real Madrid striker.
‘My vote was for Cristiano Ronaldo,’ Dunga said without explanation or apologies.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer are the final three candidates competing for the award in 2014.
