Tonight, the legendary Femi Kuti, a four-time Grammy nominee, who has headlined countless sold out concerts across the world in a career that has spanned over 30 years, will be the star in Abuja.
He will headline the Femi Kuti Live in Abuja concert at the Sheraton Hotel, Ladi Kwali Way, with support performances from Jesse Jagz, Ric Hassani, Niniola, Ruby Gyang, Jhamal, and more.
But it’s not been all rosy for him. Femi exclusively told Thenetng that, ‘When I broke away from my father, I was written off, nobody wanted to listen to me that was why I decided to make my name in Europe.’

He continued, ‘As matter of fact, there was this show I had in 1988 in LASU (Lagos State University); it was a big show, they promoted it everywhere. But in the end, only five people came for the show, and the five people were the five girls promoting the show because they liked me. And we still performed from 11pm till 5 a.m. in the morning. The girls were practically crying on my behalf (laughs).’
