Don Williams, known for his soothing baritone voice that made me a country music legend, has passed away at the age of 78.
He died on Friday 8th September after a brief illness.
Don Williams was a Hall of Famer whose career started in 1964 as part of the group Pozo Seco Singers. After the group disbanded five years later, he went solo and released his first single in 1972. He would go on to release world renown songs like You’re My Best Friend, Till the Rivers All Run Dry, Some Broken Hearts Never Mend among several others.
He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010 and has more than 40 albums to his credit.
He’s survived by Joy, his wife of 57 years, two sons and four grandchildren.
