President Muhammadu Buhari has been officially declared winner of the 2019 presidential election.
Buhari defeated fierce opposition Atiku Abubakar with 3.9 million votes.
The President polled a total of 15,191,847 votes in 36 states and the FCT, while Atiku polled a total of 11,262,978 votes.
The official declaration was made by INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu in the early hours of Wednesday.
Rejected votes across all states of the federation totalled 1,289,607.
Yakubu said that Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will receive the certificate of return at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja – venue of the collation of results.
There are indications Atiku will not concede defeat to Buhari, as the PDP has assembled a legion of lawyers to contest the result.
