We still haven’t recovered from Beyoncé‘s epic performance at Coachella on Saturday night. The mother of 3 showed us why she’s the greatest performer of our generation as she became the first black woman in history to headline the event.
For the historic night which also featured appearances by husband Jay Z, sister Solange and her Destiny’s Child group members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, Bey chose Olivier Rousteing of Balmain to be her official designer.
Olivier not only designed the five outfits she wore, he was also responsible for Kelly, Michelle and the hundreds of dancers on stage with Bey.
He worked closely with Beyonce’s stylist, Marni Senofonte to create the five looks that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also gave symbolic nods to black power and black rights movement.
She opened wearing an Egyptian-inspired gold-and-black cape that had an image of Queen Nefertiti emblazoned on the back.
Then there was the black latex bodysuit paired with a jacket and thigh-high boots.
She changed into an embellished yellow hoodie with “BAE” written on the front and denim shorts paired with iridescent fringed boots.
For her performance with Jay Z, the iconic singer wore a mesh jersey top with a sequined crest that features a bee, a raised fist, a panther, and an Egyptian goddess.
She reunited with Destiny’s Child and went on a dance break with Solange wearing a sparkly camouflage bodysuit paired with matching boots.
