A new record was set again in the Big Brother house on Monday and what better pair to set such a record than our resident Bonnie and Clyde, Mercy and Ike (Merike) – as fans fondly like to call them. For the first time this season, a joint head of house position has emerged. After a tough throwing competition, Mercy and Ike have emerged the joint head of house for the week.
The game started with 22 cups of water on a stand and all of the 12 housemates but the number reduced as it progressed. It appeared to be a simple game of throwing a tennis ball into any of the 22 cups of water and making sure the ball stayed in the water. Each housemate got to try to put the ball in the cup three times.
At the end of the first round, Frodd and Diane had failed out of the competition and could no longer play. The second round saw Seyi, Tacha, Venita, Cindy, Mike, and Khafi bow out of the competition after three failed attempts. Mercy, Ike, Omashola and Elozonam got to move into the third round where Omashola eventually lost out.
After this, the competition got fiercer as Biggie removed four of the cups on the stand, yet, all three competitors stayed steadfast and nobody lost. Biggie then decided to take away four more cups after which, nobody could cup a win. Biggie decided to let Mercy, Ike and Elozonam move forward and closer to the stand. Mercy and Ike both made a ‘basket’ while Elozonam could not make one so he bowed out of the competition.
Since it was considered that a win for Ike should be a win for Mercy, Biggie decided to offer both of them the opportunity to co-head the house. A little problem though was that only one person could get the immunity badge. They decided that Ike should get immunity while they would share the head of house room (obviously!) and the 250 Bet 9ja coins.
