A BBC presenter, Rachael Bland, who disclosed on Twitter that she only had days to live, has died.
Until her death, 40-year-old Bland had fought to recover from breast cancer after she was first diagnosed in 2016. In May, the media personality was told by doctors that her cancer was incurable.
She had shared in a moving tweet:
In the words of the legendary Frank S – I’m afraid the time has come my friends. And suddenly. I’m told I’ve only got days. It’s very surreal. Thank you so much for all the support I’ve received.
Bland was the host of the “You, Me and the Big C,” podcast where she and two other friends who suffer or have suffered the disease discuss how it has affected their lives.
Rachael is survived by her 2-year old son Freddie who she had been working on a memoir for titled “For Freddie” and her husband who announced her passing via her Instagram page.
