Spanish club Barcelona is one of the best football teams in the world at the moment and we’re all eager to know their secret to success.

And five time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi recently shared what has made the team great in recent years during an interview with The Sun.

‘We are a group and we work together to win. There is no egotism in anyone in this squad,’ the Argentine said.

He added, ‘We always try to enjoy playing together and a goal also gives you confidence, so we always try to enjoy it together when we have a game under control.’

It’s 12 years since Messi was promoted to Barca’s first team as a 17-year-old from the club’s youth academy, La Masia.  The Argentine has played alongside some of the greatest footballers in the world during his time in the senior team.

Barcelona will be facing Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City again on Tuesday, November 1 at the Etihad Stadium in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League group stage match.

Man. City will be aiming to gain vengeance after losing 4-0 to Barca in first leg.
