Sia and her husband, Erik Anders are separating after two years of marriage.
The couple got married at her home in Palm Springs, California, on August 2, 2014.
‘After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment,’ the couple disclosed to PEOPLE in a statement through their representative.
In 1997, Sia lost her Aussie boyfriend, Dan Pontifex, who died in a car accident in London while she was in Thailand.
‘I was pretty fucked up after Dan died. I couldn’t really feel anything. I could intellectualise a lot of stuff; that I had a purpose, that I was loved, but I couldn’t actually feel anything,’ the ‘Chandelier’ singer said as she recalled the effect of his death in a 2007 interview for British newspaper Sunday Times.
Sia is nominated for two Grammys in the Best Vocal Pop Album category for her seventh studio album This Is Acting and in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for her song, ‘Cheap Thrills’ featuring Sean Paul.
