Revered Nigerian Disc Jockey DJ Neptune who has just released his long-overdue Greatness album made a stop at NET TV for an exclusive interview.
Over the cause of the 23 mins-long chat, Neptune touched on everything from why he his just dropping an album despite being active for about 17 years, the state of Nigerian hip-hop, the very much criticised female Disc Jockey – Cuppy and the challenges of being a DJ in Nigeria.
On Cuppy, DJ Neptune doesn’t buy into the opinion that she is a wack DJ. He went on to debunk the idea that her growth is being fuelled by the network and resources of her billionaire father – Femi Otedola.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say because of her father, it’s not her fault. It’s nobody’s fault you know, but her father didn’t place that passion in her. She found herself in DJ-ing, she picked it up and then made something out of it. I mean, kudos to her, I’m happy where she is. I think she’s a good DJ”, Neptune stated.
