This year, OLIC which is on its 5th edition was threatened by a lot of bad press last week after the singer and his prodigy, Lil Kesh, released the single titled ‘Logo Benz’. The song soon caused a heated debate among Nigerians as some people were of the opinion that the record encouraged Nigerian youths to engage in money ritual activities to become rich.
Many people called for an outright ban of the song while others called for a total boycott of the rapper’s #OLIC5 concert.
Olamide also put out a statement to say that the record wasn’t made to encourage ritual money but to create awareness on the scourge which most often targets females whose used undies are confiscated by cybercriminals for sacrifice – ultimately leading to loss of their sanity and lives by extension.
Tweeting few hours after the concert, the singer who is widely known as the ‘Voice of the Street’, thanked his fans for honouring him with their presence, saying they could have been anywhere else and he is grateful.
See his tweet below:
God bless everyone who came out #OLIC5 y’all could have been anywhere else in the world 🙏🏾 God bless you all.
