A member of popular American hip hop group Slaughterhouse, Joe Budden has been known to share some spirited opinions on his podcast, and it looks like an upcoming discussion of Drake’s new album, VIEWS, has him particularly worked up.

In some clips of the conversation posted to his Instagram, we see Budden passionately arguing with his co-host about Drake’s latest album, which he feels does not show a progression from the rapper’s previous work.
‘For a n*gga that is crowned king of introspection… what has he told you different from Take Care to this album?’ he said, furiously. ‘It’s the same thing told not as dope as you already fucking told me…’

He went on to suggest that it’s specifically the lyrical aspects of the album that feel regressive to him. ‘I think that that kid on that album that I heard sounds real fucking uninspired,’ he shared. ‘That music sounds good and I enjoy it… 40 you sound amazing. 40 continues to progress; Drake, you do not… I miss the Drake that starts the waves, not hops on other waves. I miss the Drake that pushes the fucking agenda.’
