Over the years, we’ve heard people say that the special bond that exists between twins is one that is indivisible as they feel safer with each other than with anybody else. These cliches have guided our minds to view twins (especially identical twins) as pairs that cannot be separated by human or social factors thus making the news of the unending rift between the Psquare twins (Peter and Paul) a shocker whenever a new dust is raised.
The duo have had repeated public fallouts for over 3 years and it appears that the brothers are at it again as they have been observed jabbing at each other on social media.
How did the most famous African twin rockstars turn out to be a subject of public analysis?
Here is a timeline of when it all started to where it has gotten.
1. In October 2014, Peter Signed a solo Endorsement deal
In 2014, Peter Okoye, one half of the P-Square group signed a solo endorsement deal with Olympic Milk which was a shift from the norm as the duo have been know for always snagging ambassadorial roles as a pair. Though the singer refused to make any comments on why it was a solo score, we definitely had our suspicions.
2. In November 2015, Peter signed yet another solo endorsement deal
When Peter signed another solo endorsement deal with Adidas in 2015,it became clear that the brothers were getting used to flying solo- more so that the Adidas deal came immediately after Peter kicked off his reality dance show ‘Dance with Peter’ .The show was sponsored by telecommunications company – Glo, despite that fact the brothers had an existing joint endorsement deal with the company.
3. Psquare Celebrated their 34th Birthday Separately
On the 18th of November 2015, the Square brothers celebrated their 34th birthday apart. Peter celebrated with his wife, Lola Omotayo and their two kids and Paul also had some family time with his wife Anita and son, Andre.

4. February 2016: Peter went on a Twitter rant

On the 17th of February 2016, the feud became public as Peter who had seemingly turned into the usual suspect went on a Twitter rant insisting that the Psquare management which is headed by their older brother Jude Okoye must be dropped for Psquare to continue.
5. February 2016: Paul took a stand with Jude
Following Peter’s blow out, Paul also took to Twitter to pledge his allegiance to their older brother Jude Okoye thus leaving his twin brother Peter on the sideline.
6. February 2016: Peter Bids Psquare Goodbye
‘And cutting me off from a picture and replacing me with a studio set says it all my bro. All because you want to sound matured and letting the people insult and laugh at me. Peter Okoye the social media rant. I wish you well in all you do my bro. God bless our hustle.’ Those were Peter’s words as he announced the end of Psquare as a group.
7. And Then A Fan Dragged Peter’s wife, Lola Omotayo into the Drama
As the drama around the Psquare split continued to linger, a fan of the pop group came for Peter okoye’s wife, Lola Omotayo accusing her of being the cause of the problems the brothers were facing. Fans of Lola however came to her defence and called out the accusers.
8. Peter Okoye Apologizes
In the wake of his Twitter rant, Peter Okoye tendered an apology but as fans envisaged that meant the beef was over, he doubled down and said the apology wasn’t meant for either of his brothers. ‘Nuff said.
9. March 2016: Peter and Paul release solo singles
By now the Psquare break was in full swing! After Peter released his single All Eyes on the 8th of March, Paul dropped Call Heaven.
10. Peter Granted NET a tell-all interview
Again Peter was the vocal party as he revealed all the underground happenings that led to his public outrage. During this interview, Peter stated that he has not been in talking terms with his twin brother for over three months explaining that both Paul and Jude ganged up against him.
11. March 2016: The brothers made up and announced that they’re back together
The feud finally came to an end! After Peter’s exclusive interview with NET, the trio (Peter, Paul and Jude) finally reached a compromise and buried the hatchet. The brothers took to their Instagram pages to apologize to their fans and announce their reunion. Six months later, the brothers blessed fans with one of the biggest African records of 2016 – Bank Alert..
12. September 2017: The social media barbs resume
Nobody saw this coming. Paul who recently had a set of twins claimed on Instagram that certain people who not happy for him. Peter posted what seemed like a reply. ‘People who can’t stand to see the success of others will never experience their own… ‘
And then Paul took the biggest shot, seemingly at his brother’s wife, saying . ‘Don’t take my silence for granted, only a woman can come where brothers are working in peace and destroy it.’
