It is very easy to quickly to forget there have been a few of Nollywood actors and actresses who disappeared from the big screen particularly with the rise of new talents in the industry.
While some haven’t totally disappeared, here are some of the talented actors and actress who have bowed out and we would probably love to see act again.

1. Sandra Achums
A Nollywood movie without Sandra was deemed incomplete in the late ’90s to early ’00s. The Imo State beauty is now reportedly residing in Germany with her family.
Some of the classic movies in which she acted in include; Expensive Game 1 & 2, Deadly Affair and Domitilla.
2. Ann Njemanze
Ann acted so well, she got the nickname ‘Domitilla’ from the classic prostitution-themed movie.
A lot of controversies trailed her career, but she left a lasting impression as one of the raunchiest and daring actress in Nollywood. Some of the blockbuster movies she acted in are Domitilla II (1996) and Rattle Snake 2 (1995
3. Kunle Bamtefa
Bamtefa popularly played the role of Chief Fuji in late Amaka Igwe‘s hit TV series, Checkmate and was also the head of the family in the humourous soap, Fuji House of Commotion.
4. Regina Askia
At some point, Regina Askia was the undisputed pretty girl of Nollywood. The former beauty queen was a mainstay on our screens as she acted in a host of movies such as Full Moon, Suicide Mission, The President‘s daughter and many more.
5. Francis Duru
Francis face was mostly synonymous with playing a victimised, oppressed and suffering character in Nollywood movies in his prime. He acted in classics such as Mama Sunday, Blood Money and Rattle Snake.
6. Hilda Dokubo
With a calm demeanor and a babyish face, Hilda always elicited sympathy from the audience. Her movies include: Black Maria, End of the Wicked.
She however made a return on Kunle Afolayan‘s The CEO.
7. Bob Manuel Udokwu
The tall, lanky actor always had some of the most intriguing characters in Nollywood in his hey days. He featured in movies such as Games Men Play, Living in Bondage, Black Maria.
8. Ego Boyo
Ego Nnamani Boyo was mostly popular for her fictional role as Ann Haastrup the in the hugely successful 90’s television series, Checkmate. She became a screen darling and went on to feature in Violated and Keeping Faith.
