There is no doubt that Nigerian filmmakers and actors are making giant strides in Nollywood. However, this new year we would like to see them follow in the footsteps of those who have come before them and star in major Hollywood productions. Here are six Nigerian actors who have featured in Hollywood productions.

6. Stephanie Okereke Linus

Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke Linus, made her Hollywood appearance in 2016 when she took on the role of ‘Doris’ in the 2016 film ‘Boonville Redemption’. Stephanie played the role of a compassionate mother alongside Hollywood actors such as Richard Tyson, Emily Hoffman, Diane Ladd and Nicholas Neve Shari Rigby.

5. Osas Ighodaro Ajibade

Popularly known for her role on ‘Tinsel’, Ajibade starred in the 2015 American movie, ‘Where Children Play’. Ajibade played the role of the ‘Nia’ in the movie which also featured Macy Gray, Teyonah Paris and Brian White.

4. Olu Jacobs

Nollywood veteran, Olu Jacobs, has starred in a plethora of international film projects. In 1980, he starred in the John Irvin directed war film, ‘The Dogs of War’, alongside Tom Berenger and Christopher Walken.

3. Genevieve Nnaji

Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, starred in the autobiographical movie, ‘Farming’. The movie, which also stars Damon Idris and Kate Beckinsale, tells the life story of  Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

2. Jim Iyke

Popular Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, starred in the 2013 Hollywood movie ‘And Then There was You’. Jim Iyke played the character ‘Zuma’ alongside Trilby Glover, Lynn Whitfield and Brian White.

1.  Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

Omosexy was Akon’s date in an episode of VH1’s hit series, ‘Hit The Floor’.  She shared the small screen with the ‘Smack That’ singer in the fifth episode of the first season titled, ‘Keep Away’.
