The Africa Movie Academy Awards held on Saturday night at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos with Senegalese film, Félicité, leading the way.

South Africa’s Vaya and Nigeria’s ’76 followed, with the latter taking home awards for Best Nigerian Film and Achievement in Production Design.

In his speech while receiving the award for Best Nigerian Film, ’76 producer, Adonijah Owiriwa thanked the film’s director, Izu Ojukwu, saying the award was about him.

He added, ‘Life doesn’t reward you because of your potential or mental ability, life only rewards those who are ready to take action on what they know.’

Meanwhile, Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
