Tony Okoroji

He is silky smooth, good looking and immensely talented. His name is Dolzi. The hugely versatile singer, who is at home with R&B, Reggae, Dancehall and Highlife, is a music lover’s delight.

Nicknamed ‘King of Melody’ by those who have seen him do his thing, Dolzi has become one of the pillars of the TOPS family which I believe will redefine the presentation of popular music in Nigeria.

Dolzi, whose real name is Chiedozie Emmanuel Ugoala, was born on May 22, 1990 in Lagos. At the age of 7, Dolzi joined the junior choir of his church and later graduated to the senior choir.

Determined to be a sustained success in a very competitive field, Dolzi is working very hard to be different, massively increase his fan base and titillate the world with his beautiful voice and enchanting movements. Dolzi could not have found a better platform to take on the world than TOPS, the entertainment headquarters where creativity has no limits.

Today, the music of the King of Melody will be unveiled as Dolzi’s extended play CD, Believe is presented to the media in Lagos and one of Nigeria’s best looking performers, begins his journey to conquer the world of entertainment.

At TOPS, we have primed all the systems to ensure that the roll out of Dolzi, the King of Melody, is top notch.

We are expecting to have today at Dolzi’s media presentation the other members of the TOPS family that I call the TOPS All Stars. There will be KASI, the June 12 Girl, who just rocked the glitterati of Nigeria silly at the recent June 12 celebration at COSON House.

On Friday, KASI had a rollicking afternoon first with the iconic rain maker, Majek Fashek and later with Chidinma, the sweet singer with whom we are both in love.

G-Wilz, the rapper who is lyrically licensed to kill has assured me that he will be there at the official take-off of Dolzi’s flight to stardom.

What of KUL-GP who insists that he does not look like Reekado Banks and that it is Reekado Banks that looks like him? As sure as today is Saturday, Geepee will be there. So will be my ever supporting friends in the Nigerian media.

At TOPS, we are living our dream. We are sharing the little we have and giving each other the chance to soar. Working together with the ‘All Stars’ has been joy that you cannot imagine. At TOPS, we have experienced the true definition of family, lending whatever help we can to each other.

Please help me thank the Almighty. Last year, I promised him that I want to spend the rest of my life providing a platform for young talented people to live their dreams and to give them wings to fly and spread out. I begged him for the means to do it.

Last year, it looked like a tall dream. We still face immense challenges but just see what we have done at TOPS in 2017 and half of the year is not yet gone.

After the release of ‘Happy Music’, my first single in over 20 years, we have released KASI, the June 12 Girl’s ‘Lovinjaitis’ and ‘Ifunanya’; G-WILZ’s ‘Karma’, ‘Asiwaju’ and ‘Remember Me’, KUL-GP’s ‘Double Blessing’, ‘Oluwa Got Your Back’ and ‘For You’ and today, TOPS is set for the massive release of the three-song EP, Believe from Dolzi.

As we board Dolzi’s flight to stardom today and enjoy the sweet melody of this incredibly talented Nigerian, I once again call on all Nigerians with the means to please invest in our talented young people. The Almighty will bless you if you do.
