Shondaland has announced a new project after it emerged that Scandal will be ended after its seventh season and The Catch was officially cancelled.
ABC has commissioned Shondaland on a new work, a legal drama, For the People.
It is set in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) Federal Court and it follows brand new lawyers working on opposite sides — for both the defence and the prosecution — as they handle the most high-profile and high-stakes cases in the country, all as their personal lives intersect.
The series is created by Paul William Davies and is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
For the People will star Britne Oldford, Rege-Jean Page, Lyndon Smith, Ben Rappaport, Susannah Flood, Wesam Kees, Ben Shenkman, Hope Davis, Vondie Curtis-Hall and Anna Deavere Smith.
