Popular Instagram comedian, Woli Arole joined industry experts Ali Baba and Opa Williams to discuss ‘How Nigeria’s Comedy is saving Lives and Creating Jobs.’

Handsome Smooth FM OAP, Shola Thompson and Huawei’s Idemudia Dima-Okojie are the other people on the session, the third at the fifth Nigerian Entertainment Conference holding today, April 26.

‘Next year will be 30 years I got into comedy.


‘The money we made between 1993 and 2003, present day comedians are yet to make half of it.


‘We made so much money that we were scared to take it to the bank, we had to stash the money in bathtubs


‘There’s a very thin line between being funny and being offensive.


‘Value proposition is the only thing that can turn your talents into cash.


‘The Nigerian stand up comedy scene is what is triggering the growth of stand up comedy around Africa right now.’

‘Comedians are solution providers not jesters.


‘Comedy is a universal language, therefore it has export value.’

Opa Williams

‘Comedy is diverse, it comes in different forms.


‘The comedian is the most dangerous person as an entertainer.’



Idemudia Dima Okojie

‘Comedy is even more credible than the media.’
