Putting resources together seemed impossible with the economic situation in the country.
Ayeni Adekunle, chairman of Nigerian Entertainment Conference, revealed today that he thought the annual convention wouldn’t hold this year.
‘As at January I thought the conference wouldn’t happen,’ he said. ‘We didn’t have the sponsorship, we didn’t have the funds.’
Ayeni explained further that he was sure it would be near impossible to put resources together, to do a conference ‘free for all participants’ in an economy where everybody is cutting back.
But according to him, the conference is happening today, April 24 because of the hard work put in by committee members behind the scenes, and his team that include TheNETng, BHM and ID Africa.
He also noted that the conference is holding due to the consistency of the sponsors and exhibitors partnering with the organizers.
