It can be revealed that judgement on the case between Raconteur Productions and Omoni Oboli will likely be given tomorrow, Thursday, March 30, 2017.

This conclusion was reached by the judge presiding over the case, Ibrahim Buba after the actress’ counsel, Augustine Alegeh (SAN) argued against the cancellation of the planned cinema release already scheduled for this Friday.

A Federal High Court in Ikoyi under Buba began sitting on the motion filed by Raconteur Productions (headed by Chioma Onyenwe) prohibiting Oboli, her Dioni Visions and FilmOne from releasing and distributing Okafor’s Law due to the alleged infringement on writer, Jude Idada‘s intellectual property.

At the sitting which commenced around 9:30am this morning, Oboli through Alegeh filed a counter affidavit which sought the judge to expedite hearing on the case.

According to him, after the successful premieres of the film in Toronto (TIFF) and Stockholm, it was imperative that the release date was not cancelled.

O. Otudor who represented the plaintiff argued, on his part, said that they would need time to come up with necessary documents against the counter-motion and prayed the judge to adjourn the case till sometime later in April.

Omoni Oboli, who was alleged by Idada in an exclusive interview with TNS of stealing the script for the film, was absent in the court.

She was represented in court by Oluwatomi Adeoye; the production manager of Dioni Visions.
